Energy Options

Black Hills Energy (BHE)'s Energy Options program is an optional service that allows you to purchase gas directly from Heartland Natural Gas. Should you choose Heartland Natural Gas, BHE will remain your gas distribution company. Because BHE does not realize a profit on sales of the gas commodity, they profit from reliable delivery to your premise. BHE is essentially neutral on your choice of supplier.

With this service, you will purchase the gas commodity itself from Heartland Natural Gas and BHE will continue to deliver natural gas to your facility with the same firm service priority which BHE provides today. BHE requires Heartland Natural Gas to meet stringent credit and gas delivery requirements. If Heartland Natural Gas failed to meet BHE's gas supply or other BHE requirements, their customers would continue to receive uninterrupted gas service directly from BHE.

Heartland Natural Gas can be expected to provide additional and customized services, beyond those offered by BHE. Economic history demonstrates that all customers benefit from additional choices in the marketplace. Providing choices creates competition among energy suppliers and increases value for customers. Thus, Heartland Natural Gas can often provide customers with price protection, alternative billing methods, and cost savings.
